Traveling to Levi

By flying

The Kittilä airport is a 15-minute drive away from Levi’s mountain village. An airport shuttle bus runs from the Kittilä airport to Levi after all scheduled flights. Taxis and car rentals are available at the airport.

Finnair has 4 daily flights between Helsinki and Kittilä.
Lufthansa has 2 flights between Munich and Kittilä on Saturdays.
Air France has 1 flight between Paris and Kittilä on Saturdays.
Air Baltic flies from Riga to Kittilä 11 March (this is season's last flight)
TUI Netherlands flies from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Kittilä on Saturdays and Sundays.
There are also several charter flights from other European destinations.

The closest train station is in Kolari, from where you can get to Levi by bus (80 km). Kolari is served by night trains from Helsinki. Alternatively, you can use Rovaniemi station (170 km from Levi).

We have a Monday-Friday quota in the hotel with rooms priced 172-194 (standard/superior single/twin). Please note that the hotel has limited capacity Sunday-Monday. Hence, early booking is advised.

Travel grants and prizes

Grants

Bayescomp 2023 is co-sponsored by the IMS [https://imstat.org], hence students and young researchers (within 5 years of PhD appointment) attending the conference are eligible for IMS travel awards. The application deadline was February 1.

Other travel grants are generously offered by ISBA, Bayescomp, and other sponsors. The application deadline for these grants was December 20.

Poster prizes

The best poster presentations will be given poster prizes in the form of book vouchers. The prizes are sponsored by CRC.
